Holiday house for Rent – Blackwood

‘Wannawong’, corner of Warner Street and ‘Greendale to Trentham Road’,  Blackwood.

Margot has her holiday house for rent at Blackwood – Weekends, Short Term and holidays.

This three bedroom holiday house is set on 3/4 acre of native and Blackwood trees and plants.  The house was built for the owner’s grandfather in 1930, out of timber from the Barrys Reef school  which was built in 1876.  The house has been added to and modernised with the following –

The house has a modern lounge room facing north with a combustion wood heater, and kitchen across the front of the house which faces north with views. It also had a separate dining room and living area. The three bedrooms have two double beds, a bunk bed and one single bed, plus a bed settee and trundle bed in the living area accommodating up to nine people comfortably.  There is a modern bathroom, toilet, laundry, and separate shower.

The kitchen is fully self-contained with electric stove and microwave. There is a CD player and radio, also TV with video and DVD player.   Doonas, blankets, pillows and electric blankets provided – need to bring your own bed linen and towels.

Blackwood Hotel

Blackwood is an old gold-mining town, where once a thriving community existed with 1,000’s of people searching for gold.  Today it is a quiet holiday town where one can enjoy the bush and surrounding areas of the Lerderderg River.  see http://www.blackwoodvictoria.com/history.php – for more information.
